Ben White had earned an Associate's degree in Social Science when he enlisted in the United States Army and served 2 years in [West] Germany. After he was discharged, he returned to his hometown of Monticello, Kentucky to spend the summer before he drove a $300 Buick out to play baseball at the University of New Mexico where he traded his Kentucky driver's license for a New Mexico driver's license and never looked back. After graduating with bachelor degrees in Philosophy and Creative Writing, he joined the United States Coast Guard and spent the next 20 years stationed at various places on all three coasts - Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf. He retired from the Coast Guard in 2007 with a Master's in Business Administration, and a Master's of Arts in Educational Technology Leadership. Since then has earned his doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning and a third Master's in Creative Writing. He has been married to his wife Katrina (nee Montano) for 33 years, and he currently teaches Business Administration course at Central New Mexico Community College. Katrina and Ben have two sons, Shade and Hudson.
